Webs swept from the exterior and the perimeter treated, so the corners stay clear instead of being re-spun each week.

Where they get in

A torch beam on the rim joist of an unfinished basement ceiling, with batt insulation pulled out of one bay.

Basement and window wells

Cool and quiet. Where the ones people actually mind tend to be found.

  • Windows and frames. The most common web sites on any Edmonton house, and the first place they come back.
  • Doors and porch lights. Light draws the insects spiders eat, so an exterior light is a food source.
  • Eaves and corners. Sheltered, undisturbed and out of reach, which is exactly what they are looking for.

Questions we get

About spiders specifically.

Yes. A complete exterior web sweep is part of the visit, across the windows, doors, corners and soffits, and it is part of the quarterly plan rather than an extra. Sweeping matters beyond the tidiness: a cleared corner shows you straight away whether anything has come back, and a treated but uncleared one does not.

Edmonton has no medically significant native spiders, so this is a nuisance and a cleanliness problem rather than a danger. That is worth saying plainly, because most calls about spiders come from somebody who is worried rather than somebody who has been bitten. The reason to treat is the webs and the numbers.

Through a season. The exterior perimeter treatment holds while the weather does, which in Edmonton means one application will not carry you from spring through to freeze-up. Quarterly treatment is what keeps the corners clear year round, and it is the reason the plan exists rather than a series of call-outs.

Anything not here, call 825-522-1997 and describe it. Most of the time we can tell you what it is on the phone.
