For a few hours, until the treatment is dry. We confirm the exact figure on the day, because it depends on the product used and on how much of the house needed treating. It is the treated rooms that matter rather than the whole house, and we tell you which ones before we start.
Because flea eggs and pupae are not reached by the first treatment. They are already in the carpet and the bedding when we arrive and they hatch afterwards, which is why a single treatment can look like it worked for about a week. The second visit is timed for that hatch, and it is what ends it.
Almost always a breeding site nearby rather than the room you are seeing them in. Flies gather at light and at windows, so where you notice them tells you very little about where they came from. We find the site, which is usually a drain, a bin area, something dead in a void or standing organic matter outside, and treat that instead.
Products for household insects are formulated at low concentration and placed into the cracks and voids rather than across open surfaces. Depending on the application it is best to stay out of the treated rooms for a few hours, and we tell you which and for how long before we start.
